Edu-Protest

When my sis went back to school last year, there were a lot of negative remarks, like "aiyoh, so old study for wat?", "better save my time and go work and make money (what they meant was that studying is a waste of time)", or that "when you gonna get marry then? why not u get married?". i'm more comfortable if people just admit that they can't study anymore like me. I opted to do an easier course in TESOL, but..

Ultimately, what's wrong with studying? Since when education is a bad investment. it didnt matter that it was totally FREE.

Andrew got the same treatment from his colleagues recently. I encouraged him to take up a course that is completed FREE as well, and at the end of the 1 year course, the company immediately up your salary by RM500. So, what has he got to lose? i think it beats wasting your time sitting in the cinema anyway. he's getting education wat.....how wrong can that be...

Well, i dunno why all these people are so negative, but i suspect that most of these people from my sis and his peer group, well, i think they just wanted them to stay in the same mode and league, because they feel more comfortable, and seeing them surpassing them in terms of qualification just bugs them. Maybe even with a tinge of jealousy and envy.

And even if you don't feel that way, well, it's still not right to discourage people lah....I mean, dont u want the best for your friends? and hey, no one is too old for education. it is a brave move and take a lot of commitment, we should be 'tabik-ing' them and not stepping them down.
