You know that AstroMAX advertisement? The one where the mother kept giving way to her children when she really wanted to watch her TVB series? So, finally the husband bought her the AstroMAX, and she is once again a happy bunny, coz now she can watch her shows in the wee hours of the night when her brood is fast asleep. OK.. I just don’t get this ad. If it was me, I’d tell my children to wait their turn. What better way to instill in them the need to be considerate, for patience, for having the courtesy to ask ME if I’m done watching, respecting your elders, etc... I don’t get why the father didn’t make as much as a squeak to the kids. What sorta husband is that? I don’t really blame the children, something is really wrong with these kinda parents. It’s no wonder we find so many ding-dongs not bothering to queue up, never say their please and thank-yous, generally just having farking damn rude manners..
Seen any other moronic ads?

Moronic ads are everywhere.
The only ads that I truly love are the Petronas ads. They give so much meaning, not on the surface but a deeper meaning.

Hmmm, if you actually start to critically analyze TV ads, I think it's time you go for a holiday. :-P

I do agree with you on this note, to a certain extend
And the astromax does not solve the problem but create health problems to the lady
What he should've done is get a second decoder and a TV for her.
Ok, I'm shallow, but I still think it's just not the right product they are marketing with this concept
at first i thought it was a belated mother's day ad...
thanks all for your comments.. here's hoping that in future when we (tv addicts) decide to plop onto the couch (with twisties in hand), we hv better ads to look at.. :D
i want koko krunch with coffeee, dear.
Remember another previous ASTRO ad where the kid couldn't study because he was too bored and then the dad subscribed to ASTRO to cure that? Geez.
The other recent 50/50 ad by dunno which mobile phone provider was also a big flop. Started off promising with two rock climbers falling and being held just by their safety harnesses, just as the anticipation was building up with "what are our chances of survival?" and you are waiting for some great one-liner or something spectacular and then the guy flies up flapping his hands. What a bummer.
hahaha. yar i thought that rock climber ad was such a letdown! had so much potential. keke
a bad ad is a good ad...
... as long it get people talking about it...
